INTRICATE DETAILS: INTERIOR DECORATIVE OBJECTS
/I am always in awe of the intricate details shown through decorative objects. One of the main reasons is that they can add much-needed interest to a space. Please take a moment and imagine a room without decorative objects but with furniture, fixtures, an area rug, and maybe built-in bookshelves. Where are the intricate details, such as decor; how would the space look or feel? These objects are important because, as stated, they can add interest and timeless character, appeal, style, drama, and many other attributes. In other words, they complement the different elements in the space.
When I look for intricate details, I am interested in finding unique and odd pieces because they speak within a room, become statement-making, and add a subtle wow factor. I look for originality, authenticity, and things representing my authentic style. When I walk through my house and glance at every object, they belong because I have chosen them to be a part of my interior surroundings. However, if I remove something, I create a void.
I use the same design process for every client because a room should only have items that bring cohesive completeness—nothing more and nothing less—but all elements and principles that will create a functional and aesthetically pleasing interior.
Moreover, when shopping for intricate details, such as decorative objects, have fun, have an open mindset, and do not go for the ordinary, which can lack interest. Go big, go bold, be daring, and go for distinctive.
