SEASONAL CHANGE ALERT: FALL IS OFFICIALLY HERE

It is official, and I am screaming in my extremely cheerful voice; Autumn is here, and I am beyond excited because that means cold weather is approaching. I was born in the crisp, chilly October, making me a winter baby. However, until the cold arrives, I will enjoy the significant effects of Autumn – also known as Fall.

Moreover, I hope I am among many who get wildly excited to work on Fall projects. If God, the most significant architect, designer, and creator of everything, changes each season to create beautifully curated exterior surroundings, it is beyond inspiring to change my interior surroundings. Besides, he is my inspiration and the only reason I became a designer. With that said, to keep everything organized, I created a ‘to-complete list.’ Notice that I use the word ‘complete.’

Over the years, dealing with various clients, I have found that a ‘to-do list’ does not help them achieve everything they desire because continually adding specific tasks is a straightforward way for the list to grow to more than expected. The goal is to add one or two projects and complete each one promptly, which is more than enough, especially if it is extensive and detailed. But if you are an interior design enthusiast and DIYer, the more projects, the better.

So, check out the seven quick transformation tips below for some simple seasonal change inspiration that will not break the bank or become too time-consuming but add interest and stylish appeal.

  1. Decide on one interior wall and create an accent with paint or a wall covering. Add a bold color, such as mustard, and do not be afraid to use jewel tones like purple and blue. It can awaken any room with the change of season.

  2. Change out window treatments and add an accent with a tassel.

  3. Add a vase with Fall foliage (branches and weeds).

  4. There is too much unique and stylish décor to become set on one look, feel, or vibe. Change it up! Replace outdated décor with new, colorful objects.

  5. Incorporate twenty- or twenty-two-inch accent pillows with various textures, patterns, and colors. Oversized pillows are easily noticeable—also, the more, the better.

  6. If a fresh coat of paint is not on the list, add various fabrics to spruce up particular or all rooms. There is nothing quite like statement-making textiles that can enhance and add character. Please do not leave out black because it gives weight to a room.

  7. Have a favorite piece of furniture that needs a face-lift? Now is the time to repaint, refinish, revamp, and give life.

Additional Tip: Dress up a favorite piece of furniture with other details. For example, an accent chair with a decorative throw, accent pillows, and a side table will look more glamorous.

There are many ways to bring Fall style to interior surroundings. Go for it, go bold, and get creative.
