ONE LOVE: JAMAICA
/When I took my first trip to Jamaica, I fell in love with the great Caribbean island nation. I realized that life is TOO short, and there is SO much more to see than the place I call home. Jamaica became home and was known for adding people to their family of 'One Love.' Their motto, 'Out Of Many, One People,' is true. I truly experienced this first-hand because the overall culture and spirit of their hospitality, humbleness, smiling faces, and friendliness spoke volumes.
I was intrigued by the island's burst of stunning colors, towering mountain cliffs, and beautiful tropical jungles. I will always remember the calm and serene beaches. Furthermore, no one should ignore the talent from Jamaica over the years, even to this day. The artistic skill varies by style and technique, and the main reason color is significant is the original artwork (primarily through Graffiti). Still, unique talents and influence throughout Jamaica are by Africans, Europeans, and Americans.
Moreover, I need to include cuisine, music, and dance. OMG, I thought I shook my hip out of place at one point.
Of course, the chef ensured that my meal was delicious and perfectly prepared.
The most memorable moment was spending time at Bob Marley's home. Visiting his childhood lifestyle and sitting on his bed was surreal. His estate tour brought a sense of anger, happiness, and many mixed emotions. But the opportunity to see and hear the truth about his life was transcending. At the end of the Bob Marley tour, I walked away smiling, feeling happy, and renewed. He was a great man with a heart and soul for doing what was right.
