MY LONG HIATUS: TRANSCENDING WHILE IN THE MOTHERLAND - SOUTH AFRICA
/Here is a rundown of why I decided to take a long hiatus and what has transpired. As the founding owner of KCL-IDESIGN, LLC, and principal designer, I needed a moment to breathe and regroup. I underwent a thorough transformation while prioritizing my life and business. As a result, I had to reevaluate and make responsible decisions requiring significant changes. However, I did not change as a designer because I already knew I was doing what God had destined for me.
Moreover, I needed to branch out as a designer and add different layers to my brand. In doing this, I needed to elevate both without temper tantrums and the need to scream! So, I brainstormed and jotted down every thought running through my brain. Then, I needed to organize and implement prolonged or unfinished business strategies and goals, personal achievements, personal goals, and other factors.
Next, I created defined lists, sorting through the positives, negatives, and the most important to the least important. Then, I added elements that would enhance both levels. I could sift through and alleviate obstacles that were not beneficial in my personal and business life. Also, I could incorporate the necessary assets missing in each area. The transitioning process became much more manageable.
Finally, I decided to leave the country amidst it all. I hopped on a plane and went to South Africa, the Motherland. I went across the world, and Africa greeted me with open arms.
It was gloomy outside on this day. However, my stay at the Da Vinci Hotel and Suites on Nelson Mandela Square was outstanding!
Yes, please pamper me, and this is especially true when it deals with a dose of chocolate and a cozy robe.
It felt good to relax – to inhale, exhale, and breathe. I captured the beauty that surrounded me, which was beyond astonishing.
This backless chaise lounge is beautiful, sleek, and glamorous. So, of course, I had to sit on this sexy piece of furniture, but I also had to get a picture. Oh, excuse me, I meant – I had to get a picture with every piece of furniture I came across. I am so moving to South Africa!
As I look at my photos, I cannot help but reminisce. I deeply miss the presence of such an extraordinary place.
South Africa was suitable for me; it was a revelation. It was breathtaking, compelling, transcending, tranquil, and serene, and I felt privileged, honored, loved, and other feelings, situations, and occurrences. It was a definite life-changer. After arriving back home in South Carolina, I felt complete.
I am now back to blogging, and I see my life as an intricate puzzle with each piece firmly in place. Besides, it is time to express my obsession with interior design. More photos will come, as this is only a snippet of my vacation in South Africa. In addition, upcoming posts will include pictures from other extensive travels around the globe.
