INTERIOR DESIGN SERIES: CONSOLE TABLE OBSESSION – EPISODE 1, VIDEO 1 OF 7

In 2021, I started a series called INTERIOR DESIGN SERIES: CONSOLE TABLE OBSESSION and created the first two episodes, 1 and 2. After the first two, the series was on hold due to other design projects and deadlines. However, I am reposting the first two before I continue with the series. I am excited because I have always found console tables highly significant in a room, and it was one of the first pieces of furniture I purchased when shopping for my living room. Moreover, over the years, I have had many console tables that add much-needed character, style, and appeal within a space.

These much-needed tables are perfect for narrow spaces like entryways and hallways. A bonus is that they can act as bars, vanities, or desks when square footage is at a premium. I prefer to butt one against the back of a sofa and top it with dominant table lamps and various decorative pieces.

I am excited to start the series again and cannot wait for episode 3, which will be new and exciting. I am not going to reveal what the style will be, but trust me, it will come with a seasonal change. Until then, I still enjoy watching episodes 1 and 2 because my love of styling console tables inspired me to start the series.

Switching out the decorative pieces is necessary to keep this type of table from becoming dated. The possibilities are limitless because decorative objects are mass-produced and will never be in short supply.

Knowledgeable Notation: The purpose of a console table was to be fixed to a wall and supported only by front legs. It was developed in the late 17th century and became popular throughout the 18th century.

Check back to see video 2, which features the existing console table but with a different look, vibe, and style.
