2023 IS HERE: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
/Thank you, God, for the fantastic journey of 2022!
And thank you, 2022, for being a fantastic year for me personally and in my business career. However, another year has officially arrived, and I have significant expectations. So, are you ready to start the New Year 2023 off with a brand new start? As for me, I am wildly excited because I have many exciting design projects, travels, and personal journeys to explore, so heck, yes, I am beyond ready!
Moreover, I must enter the New Year by sharing inspiring interior design ideas. As a designer, "I will keep reminding the world that interior and exterior surroundings benefit humans' well-being and that interior design has psychological effects. Remember that everything in your home triggers an emotional response."
For instance, the openness or spaciousness of your home, the layout of each room, the artificial and natural lighting effects, the use of specific materials, the presence of greenery, the use of assorted colors, decorative objects, functionality, and correct furniture placement, and the use of art are all important ways to improve your daily mood, increase your focus, and help reduce anxiety.
Ready to start?
Take a look around each room and take detailed notes. What needs to be improved?
Are the interior walls dated? Do you need a fresh coat of paint or an accent wall with wallpaper?
How is the furniture placement? Too many pieces, cluttered, and overwhelmed?
Are the decorative objects complementary to other elements in the room, or are they dated?
Need new flooring or the perfect area rug for the ideal focal point and much-needed color?
Is the artificial and natural lighting working in harmony or dominating the other?
Is there a dominant focal point leading the eyes when entering the room?
Is the fireplace mantle still bland and waiting to be styled?
Is there a mixture of materials and finishes, such as fabrics?
Are the intended accent pieces creating a statement-making effect?
What is the artwork's color scheme, placement, or theme? Does it speak within the room and fit the room's style?
How is the mood, vibe, the overall atmosphere in each room?
Is there character, style, and appeal?
Is there accurate and ample maneuvering throughout each room?
What is the rhythm within the space?
Are there intricate details that create a subtle wow factor?
Is there a sense of originality and authenticity?
Lastly, if you can walk through each room, feel amazingly happy and satisfied, and smile because you have been working your butt off to create aesthetically appealing spaces, then kudos.
If not, get to work, and I hope my list of questions will help get you started.
Design Tip: Remember, no rush, but most importantly, stay focused.
