DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: My home's style says a lot about who I am, and therefore, I approach the design process with authenticity, originality, and an accurate reflection of who occupies the space.
I have always been fascinated with peacocks (peafowl species). I undoubtedly understand why I am so intrigued. Their feathers are stunning. I adore how they flaunt their intricate, beautiful, and colorful bodies, showing great color palettes of metallic blues and greens. Both the male and female are hypnotizing to watch. However, I recently learned that the male is the peacock, and the female is the peahen; both are peafowl. I am asking myself why I did not know this, considering I am addicted to NAT GEO and Planet Earth. Crazy, huh? I have watched every episode and refuse to miss any upcoming features.
Moreover, these birds are, without any doubt, gorgeous. In other words, sculptured artwork by the renowned creator, artist, and designer himself, God. As a designer, I incorporate intense colors throughout my styled rooms. My love and respect for this bird species run deep because of their subtle colors, texture, and patterns. Their intricate details are even more unique.
Furthermore, these glamorous birds are highly favored because they walk around daily dressed to impress in beautifully designed bodies. I strongly feel the same way when incorporating the elements and principles of design to style various spaces. They should adhere to authenticity and originality, whether adorned with ornate decor, stylish furnishings, or an impressive color palette that brings beauty to the eyes. Besides, I incorporate pieces that will become a conversation starter, such as accents of a feather or two (peacock feathers used on my Christmas Tree Form Dress 2020).
I prefer to incorporate simple accent pieces using subtle hints to mimic inspiration from such a rare bird. It creates such a unique wow factor, making it statement-making in return.
