MY LONG HIATUS: TRANSCENDING WHILE IN THE MOTHERLAND - SOUTH AFRICA
/Here's a rundown of why I decided to take a long hiatus and what has happened since then. As the founding owner and principal designer of KCL-IDESIGN, LLC, I needed a moment to breathe and regroup. I underwent a profound transformation as I prioritized my life and business. As a result, I had to reevaluate and make responsible decisions requiring significant changes. However, I did not change as a designer because I already knew I was doing what God had destined for me.
Moreover, I needed to branch out as a designer and add different layers to my brand. In doing this, I needed to elevate both without throwing temper tantrums and screaming! So, I brainstormed and jotted down every thought that came to mind. Then, I needed to organize and implement strategies and goals to address prolonged or unfinished business, achieve personal milestones, and address other key factors.
Next, I created a defined list, sorting the positives, negatives, and the most important to the least important. Then I added elements to enhance both levels. I could sift through and remove obstacles that were not beneficial to my personal or business life. I could also incorporate the necessary assets missing in each area. The transitioning process became much more manageable.
Finally, amid all of this, I decided to leave the country. I hopped on a plane and went to South Africa, the Motherland. I went across the world, and Africa greeted me with open arms.
It was a gloomy day outside. However, my stay at the Da Vinci Hotel and Suites on Nelson Mandela Square was outstanding!
Yes, please pamper me, especially with a dose of chocolate and a cozy robe.
It felt good to relax – to inhale, exhale, and breathe. I captured the beauty that surrounded me, which was beyond astonishing.
As I look at my photos, I cannot help but reminisce. I deeply miss the presence of such an extraordinary place.
South Africa was a revelation for me; it was a good fit. It was breathtaking, compelling, transcendent, tranquil, and serene, and I felt privileged, honored, loved, and a range of other emotions. It was a definite life-changer. After arriving back home in South Carolina, I felt complete.
I am back to blogging, and I see my life as an intricate puzzle, each piece firmly in place. Additionally, I would like to express my passion for interior design. More photos will come, as this is only a snippet of my vacation in South Africa. In addition, upcoming posts will include pictures from other extensive travels around the globe.
